Today, Emily and I leave for our Tanzania Safari in the Serengeti through 2/12. We'll then go to Zanzibar, a tropical island off the coast of Tanzania for a week of beach rest and relaxation. From there Emily will head back home while I will continue onto Ghana to volunteer with A Broader View in Kpando which is in the Volta Region in the south east of the country. I will stay with a host family and volunteer in a local clinic from February 20th - April 17th. Then I will move to an orphanage where I will stay and volunteer with the kids, also in Kpando, from April 18th - May 28th.
From there I will head to South Africa until August 1st. I will stay with a host family while volunteering at one organization which is a hospice, a health clinic and a daytime orphanage.
I am looking forward to this next chapter in my life and I'm eager to share it with you - stay posted!
Hey Kim~ I hope you had a safe trip!! Thanks for your message too. I shattered my left shoulder and had 5 hours of reconstructive surgery at the Bangor Trauma Center. I am home now resting on pain meds. All is well!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your travels!!
This sounds like an amazing trip. I can't even imagine how cool it is to see all those animals.
ReplyDeleteI loved your description of the kids. I felt their excitement over the camera. :)
